The information about watermelon told you a little bit about the health benefits of the delicious fruit.

The Florida Fresh beer flight at Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

One of our favorite items at the festivals is always the beer flights because they give you the ability to sample multiple beers. The Florida Fresh beer flight was very light and refreshing. All four beers were ones that you’d want to drink on a hot, sunny day. The Florida Avenue Blueberry was our favorite. It just had a hint of Blueberry. Our least favorite was the Feast of Flowers Farmhouse Ale. It was very floral! Too floral for us.

Florida Fresh - Shrimp and grits

The shrimp with stone ground grits with Andouille sausage, sweet corn, tomatoes and cilantro debuted at the 2013 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. It was one of our favorites and still is.

Florida Fresh - Watermelon salad

The Watermelon Salad with pickled red onions, BW Farms baby arugula, feta cheese and balsamic reduction made a return this year. We loved it last year and was happy to see it on the menu.

The Florida Kumquat Pie from Florida Fresh at the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

For those not familiar with kumquat, it’s a small citrus fruit that resembles a oval orange. You eat the entire fruit, not just the insides so it can be bitter if it’s not ripe. The Florida kumquat pie was a dessert highlight. It was really light. The pastry was light, flaky and had just the right amount of sugar on it. The dessert reminded me a lot of key lime pie. It was just a little sweeter though. If you enjoy key lime pie you must try this!
