New Dia de los Muertos goodies at Disneyland

October is not only the month of Halloween and Oktoberfest, it’s also when Mexicans celebrate the Día de los Muertos holiday (Day of the Dead). This cultural event coincides with Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort and will feature colorful festive treats for the occasion.

Candy apples are always a popular treat and this time they get a eye-popping makeover. It starts with a juicy apple covered in rich caramel. Then a generous coat of white chocolate goes atop. Candy pieces and sanding sugar are used to create the interesting face designs.

Besides apples, look for cake pops and krispy treats to get your sugar fix. They are created in the same fashion, with caramel, white chocolate, milk chocolate candy pieces and sanding sugar. The “female” versions of these treats also have marshmallows in the shape of flowers as well.

These delicious goodies would be perfect to eat in Frontierland near Rancho del Zolcalo Restaurante. Cop a squat on a bench in the main plaza and just enjoy.

You can find these delectable delights now at Candy Palace on Main Street, U.S.A., in Disneyland; Trolley Treats in Disney California Adventure; and Marceline’s Confectionery in the Downtown Disney Anaheim.

Nice, the only thing is here in Mexico we don’t celebrate Día de Muertos in October, but in November! Also it’s not supposed to be “deadly” but rather a day to commemorate those who have passed on before we have. These treats are cute but they don’t exist in Mexico, which isn’t wrong… it’s inspired by our culture but here calaveritas de azúcar (sugar skulls) are very different, needless to say they’re not caramel apples, so this isn’t very accurate 🙂 Still a cute post, though! Greetings.
