Review: Casey’s Corner

Casey’s Corner is located on Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom.

CC1Ambiance

Casey’s Corner is named after the famous baseball poem, “Casey at the Bat,” which was written by Ernest Thayer in 1888.  It was turned into a Disney cartoon in the 1940’s, which is the time period that Casey’s is themed after.  Disney did an outstanding job with the décor in Casey’s.  Even the cast members wear 1940’s inspired baseball uniforms.  Inside, guests can sit on bleachers and watch vintage baseball Disney cartoons.  Outside, guests can sit at patio tables and enjoy a ragtime pianist.

CC3Menu

As with most quick service restaurants, menu options are minimal.  Choices include:  Chicago-Style Dog, Chili Cheese Dog, Barbecue Slaw Dog, Plain Dog, Ball Park Nachos, and Corn Dog Nuggets.  If you get a Plain Dog, don’t worry, the condiment station has every type of topping you can think of to make your hot dog your own.  You can upgrade your hot dog to a meal with a soda and your choice of apple slices or fries.  Snacks include Cracker Jack, cotton candy, and French fries.

Food and Drink

I had a Chili Cheese Dog, my husband had a Barbecue Slaw Dog, my dad had the Ball Park Nachos, and the girls had Corn Dog Nuggets.  Between the five of us, we had almost everything on the menu.  The food did not disappoint.  Although it isn’t the same as having a hot dog and beer at a Cardinals game, Casey’s hot dogs come in a close second.  My girls devoured the Corn Dog Nuggets.  I don’t think they have ever had a corn dog that they didn’t like, but these were fun change and easy to eat.

Service

Since this is a quick service restaurant, there isn’t much service here.  You order your food from a cast member at a podium, then you pick up your order from a window.  Seating is first come first serve.  If it’s crowded, it’s a good idea to have one person find a table while another gets the food.

Overall

It’s pretty easy to see why Casey’s is a fan favorite.  It has a fun vibe and is in a great location.  It’s the perfect spot to grab a bite and watch a parade or fireworks or just take in the sights and sounds of Main Street.
