Top 5 Disney ice cream treats

There is so much fantastic food and drink at both Disneyland and Disney World it’s always hard to pick favorites. However, we’ve managed to put together a list of our top 5 Disney ice cream treats. Some are extremely popular and others might be new to you.

Ghirardelli’s delicious dessert – The Haight AshBerry

#5 – The Haight AshBerry

The Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop is located in Downtown Disney at Disney World and Disney California Adventure in Disneyland. For berry-lovers, this is the dessert to have! The Haight AshBerry is strawberry cheesecake ice cream topped with sliced strawberries, under a layer of vanilla ice cream with blueberry topping, whipped cream, chocolate-covered blueberries and finished with a homemade chocolate-dipped waffle roll. It truly is a very berry sundae!

Via Napoli

#4 – Coppa de Brutti Ma Buoni

We love Via Napoli Pizzeria e Ristorante! It’s one of our favorite Disney World restaurants. Even one of our favorite ice cream desserts comes from there, the Coppa de Brutti Ma Buoni (which translates to “ugly but good” in English). The dessert is a Amarena cheery and vanilla gelato sundae topped with Amarena cherries (used in some of the cocktails throughout Disney) and “ugly but good” cookies.

#3 – The Kitchen Sink

Beaches and Cream Soda Shop at Disney’s Beach Club Resort is a popular spot to grab some grub in a seaside themed restaurant. The restaurant is most known for its enormous dessert, the Kitchen Sink. The menu states that it serves for but we have yet to see four grown adults consume the entire thing (and that’s without having anything else).

The Kitchen Sink consists of  eight scoops of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, coffee and mint chocolate chip ice cream topped with angle food cake, bundt cake, brownies, Oreo cookies, Milky Way candy bar pieces, peanut butter, hot fudge, strawberry, butterscotch, caramel sauce, bananas, cherries, sprinkles and whipped cream. That’s not too much, is it? 😉

We must give an honorable mention to No Way Jose. It’s a peanut butter and hot fudge sundae that’s what every Reese’s fan wants. If there are just two of you, save room of it!

Dole Whip Float

#2 – The Dole Whip Float from Aloha Isle (Disney World) and Tiki Juice Bar (Disneyland)

This is one of the most talked about treats at Disneyland and Disney World. It’s available at Aloha Isle at Magic Kingdom and Tiki Juice Bar at Disneyland. In Disneyland, guests can actually enjoy the treat while watching Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room. The Dole Whip Float comes with your choice of pineapple, vanilla or orange soft serve and pineapple juice. It’s a great snack when it’s hot outside. Better yet, those on the Disney Dining Plan can use a snack credit on it!

Everyone loves the Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar

#1 – Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar

The Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar is available at every park! It’s the most famous Disney dessert. You can even purchase an air freshener that’s Mickey bar scented! The ice cream bar is vanilla ice cream coated in chocolate. If you’re a huge fan of these and are headed on a Disney cruise, you can have one of these delivered via room service. How nice is that?

We have one other honorable mention, the PB & J shake at 50’s Prime Time Café. It just missed making the list but it doesn’t make it any less of a wonderful ice cream treat.

Did your favorite ice cream treat make the Top 5? If not, what’s your favorite? We’d love to hear about it!
