Newly Announced 60th Anniversary Popcorn Buckets and Mugs to Debut at Disneyland
A growing fad in Disneyland souvenir collecting are popcorn buckets and coffee mugs. Earlier today, the Disney Parks Blog announced that special edition items will be available for purchase to help celebrate the 60th Diamond Anniversary.
Popcorn buckets at Disneyland will feature the Fab 5 crew hanging out at Refreshment Corner at the end of Main Street, USA. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto and Goofy are joined by Chip and Dale. Mickey plays the piano while Minnie and Pluto watch. Goofy enjoys a seat nearby, while Donald hangs out in the street. Chip and Dale are dancing to the music atop the piano.
The souvenir mug will showcase Mickey and Minnie holding hands in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle during a fireworks display. In the background are host of iconic Disney characters including Dumbo, Alice, Stitch and others.
At Disney California Adventure, the souvenir popcorn buckets will be adorned with artwork depicting Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in front of many notable attractions at the park. Prominently featured, of course, is the Carthay Circle Restaurant and Lounge. What better location for these characters than by the place where homage is payed to the original theater where the film was released in 1937?
Specialty coffee mugs at DCA will have Mickey and Minnie hugging one another at the end of Buena Vista street. They are standing by Carthay Circle Fountain where Chip and Dale are looking up at the sky toward Jiminy Cricket. Peter Pan and Wendy are also flying around, with Goofy and Pluto hanging out by the Red Car Trolley tracks.
The good news is that these souvenir items will be available when the Diamond Anniversary Celebration begins on May 22nd. They are going to be sold at food and beverage kiosks around Disneyland Resort. The bad news is that they will not be sold online and can only be purchased at the parks.
In the meantime, you can look forward to the release of the Cinderella popcorn buckets. These will be on sale sometime very soon. Although no exact date has been given, it is likely to coincide with the release of Disney’s live-action film that debuts March 13.
This magnificent looking container is shaped like Cinderella’s royal coach from the movie and is going to be sold at both the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts.
Are you planning to buy these souvenir popcorn buckets and mugs? If so, tell us which ones you are looking forward to the most!

Ahhh! I had NO idea that popcorn buckets were a thing at any of the US parks! I adored these when I visited the Tokyo park and am dying to get my hands on that Cinderella version. 🙂
