Disneyland Diamond Anniversary ‘Decades’ art features dinnerware
The hits keep coming for the 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration as Disneyland unveiled a new artwork series called “Decades.” It features artwork highlighting the resort’s rich history. There will be a total of six different pieces, each providing a glimpse of past characters, attractions, and icons. All are done in an art deco style and pays special homage to their respective decades.
This past week I had the opportunity to purchase the limited edition pin highlighting the period from 1955-64. It’s quite beautiful. As you can see by the photo, there is a tiki bird, mermaid, pirate ship, skull island (remember that?), monorail and rocket vehicle. In the background is the iconic Matterhorn attraction.
The dinnerware includes plates, mugs and other home décor items. I’m especially thrilled with the coffee mug. Notice the handle? Pretty sweet, huh? Nothing like staring at Disneyland history while sipping a hot cup of joe in the morning.
According to the Disney Parks Blog, more pieces will be release about every 60-days. You can find these “Decades” plates and mugs at the following locations around the Disneyland Resort:
- Disney Showcase – Disneyland park
- Off the Page – Disney California Adventure park
- World of Disney – Downtown Disneyland
