Lunar New Year celebration at Disney California Adventure

The Lunar New Year celebration at Disney California Adventure is expanding to 17 days! It will be taking place Friday, Jan. 20 – Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017.

Lunar New Year includes delicious food, live performances, special merchandise, Disney characters and plenty of fun activities. It’s traditionally celebrated in China, Korea and Vietnam. It’s a celebration of when the sun and moon begin their journey for the year.

During this celebration at Disney California Adventure, each night their will be a 6-minute pre-show – Hurry Home, prior to the start of World of Color. It’s a story of a Little Lantern joining its family for the celebration and will feature Mulan and Mushu. Also, guests will enjoy Chinese acrobats, musicians, performers, and characters dressed for the New Year – Mickey, Minnie, Mulan and Mushu.

The best part of these festivities will be the food. There will be three new Asian marketplaces offing food from China, Korea and Vietnam.
