Refrigerator removal in Disney World, Disneyland and Aulani
Refrigerators have been disconnected or removed from some of the guest rooms at Disney World, Disneyland and Aulani due to a possible defect.
Guests that are staying in rooms that have had the mini-fridges removed will be notified by Disney via a letter in their guest room. Disney will be replacing these refrigerators over the next several months so some removes will not have them until the issue is resolved. Below are some answers to the most frequently asked questions about the refrigerator removal.
Can a request be made for a refrigerator?
Yes. One may be request prior to your stay or when you arrive.
What if they don’t have any available and I’ve requested one?
If a request is made and one is not available guests will receive a $15 per day credit to their room. The credit is to cover the cost of perishable items at the food court or for renting a mini-fridge from an offsite company. This credit will only be given if one is not available.
If there is one in my room when I arrive will it be removed?
No. If there is a mini-fridge in your room when you arrive it will not be removed during your stay.
What if I need a refrigerator for medical reasons?
Guests staying in rooms without refrigerators that need them for medical reasons need to request one and have it noted that it’s for medical purposes.
Will all rooms have their refrigerators removed?
No. This doesn’t effect Disney Vacation Club resort rooms, Fort Wilderness cabins or Art of Animation family suites. All others resort rooms will have refrigerator removal.
