Sleeping Beauty Castle Cake celebrates Disneyland Diamond Anniversary

Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland park is absolutely stunning with the added bling for the 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration event. As sweet homage to this magnificent structure, a team of ten artists, chefs, and engineers created a gigantic cake at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. It is a whopping 3-feet tall and a circumference of equal size. The detail on this beauty is absolutely awe inspiring.

During the holiday season, various locations around Disneyland Resort exhibit gigantic displays of gingerbread houses. Last year, this same talented group of folks designed and built the Haunted Mansion Holiday Gingerbread piece.

It took over 140 hours to construct this vanilla cake masterpiece. The team used a cornucopia of ingredients including:

• 54 lbs rice cereal
• 18 lbs marshmallows
• 40 lbs gum paste
• 30 lbs white chocolate
• 15 lbs fondant

Look carefully to find six hidden Mickeys around the castle. Oh, by the way, it’s more than just good looks. When you enter the resort lobby, you’ll notice the sweet fragrance of vanilla as well.
