Zuri’s Sweets Shop will be opening soon in Disney’s Animal Kingdom
We are excited about the new addition of Zuri’s Sweets Shop at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Starting on Wednesday, June 17, guests can shop at this new Harambe Market location.
Disney Parks Blog share some of the items that guests can expect to see at Zuri’s Sweets Shop. There will be about 80 new items, that include a wide variety of sweet and savory treats. They are all inspired by the sights, smells and tastes of Africa.
There will be three themes. One will include the characters from The Lion King – Simba, Timon and Pumbaa. Items such as Shimba’s paw shaped lollipop, animal crackers and chocolate mini crocodiles.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom art work – the colorful patterns and animals you see throughout the park, are the inspiration of the next set of items. It will include Rice Krispies treats and Mickey Mouse Creamy, Chocolate-Dipped Coconut Patties. You may have seen patties like this before. They are a very popular souvenir item in the Caribbean. There’s also a five chocolate bar set includes flavors like milk chocolate with spicy cinnamon and banana chip.
Zuri’s Sweets Shop will offer African spice rubs, a gourmet cocoa set and my favorite, Flame Tree Barbeque sauce. We are most excited about getting the spice rubs and barbecue sauce to use at home!
In addition to the caramel apples, rice krispies treats and everything else we’ve mentioned, there is African Spice popcorn. According to Steven Miller, the merchandise communications manager for Disney Parks, the African Spice popcorn has a hint of cardamom.
We are so excited to see what else the store has to offer. We look forward to sharing this with you soon!
