Disneyland Diamond Celebration 24-Hour Event food list – Disney California Adventure park edition
Only days remain until the 24-hour kickoff event for Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration. This is part two of the massive list of food items being offered especially for this occasion. Our previous article discussed all the dishes featured at Disneyland specifically. This time, we will explore Disney California Adventure park to see all the great stuff on the menu.
Who says you can’t start the day off with dessert? Down Buena Vista Street, you can find the Disneyland Diamond Celebration Cupcake at Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Café. We wrote about this specialty cupcake back in April 2015, “Special 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration food announced for Disneyland.” This particular version is orange flavored, which pays homage to Hollywood’s 1930s era.
For a twist on a traditional American breakfast, swing by Award Wieners. “The Insomniac” will be hot ’n ready for all the half-sleeping zombies in Hollywood Land. This tubular concoction is made of sausage, egg, and bacon. It’s topped with pepper jack cheese and maple crunchies. The bun looks to be a trio of toasted dinner rolls. When visiting the Pacific Wharf area, you may want to consider splurging on the Surf & Turf dish at Wine Country Trattoria. This elegant looking plate features grilled sirloin steak and roasted lobster tail. The steak is drizzled with a rich demi-glace, while the lobster has butter. It is accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Do you plan to see World of Color? If so, Disney is offering 2-course, prix fixe breakfast dining packages at both Wine Country Trattoria and Ariel’s Grotto. We had mentioned it here: “Book special World of Color Dining Packages for the 24-hour Celebration Kickoff at Disneyland Resort.” Our article was written April 26, 2015, so it’s unknown if they will still be available. In any case, the prix fixe breakfast service takes place from midnight until 1:45 am on May 23rd. The reserved viewing is slated for their 3:00 am show. Over at Paradise Pier, Lucky Fortune Cookery also has something unique. It’s the Steamed Chicken and Vegetable Dumpling bowl. The Asian influenced dish is served with white rice and vegetables with a rice wine vinegar sauce on the side for dipping. If you’re hankering for some good ole fashioned barbecue, mosey on by the Cozy Cone Motel in Cars Land. There you can lasso a Barbecued Pulled Pork and Slaw cone. It’s slow-cooked, shredded pork mixed with barbecue sauce and on top is a small handful of crispy coleslaw. All the ingredients are placed inside their trademark bread cone for portable food fun.
Back when I was in college, one of the “go to” meals for late night eating was pizza. It’s fast, convenient, and fun to share. If this is your thing, you should definitely check out the Mac and Cheese Pizza at Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta. Normally, you wouldn’t think of macaroni and cheese as a topping for pizza. This may very well change your mind. Besides the aforementioned mac and cheese, there is also real bacon bits, mozzarella, and bacon pesto. The sauce mixture is made with sun-dried tomatoes for a distinct flavor profile. The final food item brings us back to where we began – dessert. Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream will have a special S’mores Bar. It starts with your choice of either a vanilla or chocolate ice cream bar. The next option is milk or dark chocolate coating. Once your selections are made, the bar is drizzled with fluff (marshmallow?) and graham cracker crumbs. Sounds delicious, right? Just make sure you don’t roast it over a campfire. It’s a great thing the Disneyland Diamond Celebration lasts an entire 24-Hour period. How else are you going to try all these fabulous dishes? Whether you’re at Disneyland or Disney California Adventure, there will be lots of choices. Just pace yourself and have a great time eating your way around the resort.
