Review: Biergarten

Biergarten is a buffet table service restaurant in the Germany Pavilion of Epcot’s World Showcase.  It can be a little difficult to find.  Head to the back left corner of the Germany Pavilion and you should be able to find it easily.

Ambiance

Biergarten is designed to make you feel like you are in the middle of a Bavarian Village celebrating Oktoberfest year round.  They really did an amazing job making it feel like you just walked into an Oktoberfest street festival.  I absolutely love the attention to deal at Biergarten.  The tables are communal with eight seats per table.  If you are a smaller group, you will probably be seated with another party.  Entertainment is one of the most important aspects of Biergarten.  The oompah band does a really great job of adding to the authentic feel of Biergarten.

Menu

Buffet options include: Seasonal salads, Traditional sausages, Sauerbraten, Rotisserie chicken, Roasted pork, Fish, Red cabbage sauerkraut, Potatoes, Spaetzle, Schnitzel, and Assorted Desserts including Apple Strudel, Black Forest cake and Bavarian Cheesecake.

Food and Drink

While the food wasn’t amazing, if you are a fan of German food and beer, then this restaurant will be perfect for you!  I have had better German food at various Oktoberfest street fairs.  Don’t get me wrong, the food was okay, it just wasn’t the best I have had.

Service

As with most buffets, we didn’t see our server very often.  When we did see her; however, she was friendly and very knowledgeable.

Overall

I’m a little torn on how I feel about Biergarten overall.  I loved the entertainment and decor, but the food was just okay.  If you are looking for a fun time, it’s a great restaurant, it’s a great restaurant, but be prepared to not be wowed by the food.
