A look at Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival
One of our contributors, Michelle, had the opportunity to visit the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival and sent us plenty of pictures for your viewing pleasure. The festival is taking place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, now through May 1, 2016.
Marketplaces
There are eight different marketplaces, like Wine Country to try delicious California cuisine and savor wines, beers and spirits from the region. For a FULL list of marketplaces, and food and beverage items, including prices check out our marketplace menu post. We even have a Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival checklist if you’d like to mark down what you want to eat or what you have eaten.
Around the festival you’ll find plenty of places to snack and drink. Unfortunately, there is no seating. Standing room only.
If you’re a Disneyland Annual Passholder, there is a special lanyard and festival marketplace tasting passport that you can purchase. The passport comes with six tabs good for one food item and lanyard. It’s $45, but you’ll receive a $10 gift card with it. If you’ve already purchased the passport but did not get the $10 gift card, bring your receipt back and you’ll be able to receive one.
One of the easiest ways to pay for your food and beverages is the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival themed gift card. You can keep up with what you’re spending and it’s easy to pay since the card just slides onto your wrist. It’s a must-have for us.
This is another must-have for us. The festival tray makes it easy to carry your food and drink.
Presentations
The celebrity chef stage is located in Hollywood Land. Featured chefs include Guy Fieri and Graham Elliot. For more information on the presentations, visit our Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival page.
The culinary demonstrations will be taking place at Backlot Stage in Hollywood Land. Check out the FULL demonstration schedule here.
Shopping
One favorite past time for many is shopping. There is plenty of that to do at the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival. There are festival logo items, handmade goodies and food, as well as cookbooks from the celebrity chefs attending the event.
T-shirts are available with the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival logo for both men and women. There is also a baseball cap.
Kitchen towels and wine glasses with the logo are also available. Personally, we love the wine glass. We think they make the best souvenirs. What better way to drink the wine you discovered at the festival than with a festival glass.
There are plenty of Leonardo e Roberto’s gourmet blends of vinegar and olive oil flavors to choose from at the festival. We love the raspberry balsamic vinegar and the blood orange olive oil. These are great to add to meat dishes or to make salad dressings with.
Olive oil flavors include, Rosemary, Basil, Blood Orange, Lime, Meyer Lemon, Garlic, Chipotle, Tuscan Herb and Herbs de Provence. Flavors of vinegar include Sriracha Mango, Jalapeño, Black Cherry, Blackberry Wine, Black Currant, Pomegranate and Raspberry. The vinegars are either balsamic or white balsamic.
Guests can shop tons of handmade body care products form Rinse Bath & Body. They are made in Monroe, GA.
Check back, as we’ll have a review of the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival this coming week on the site, as well as for the Dining at Disney Podcast.
