Craft Beer booth at the 2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival
The Craft Beer booth at the 2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival is one of the most popular booths at the festival. In prior years it was located at the entrance to the World Showcase and would have very long lines. It’s improved and better than ever!
This year Craft Beer moves inside the Odyssey Restaurant. There is now plenty of space to relax, cool down and enjoy a nice cold beer. And some snacks!
At Craft Beer, all of the beer orders are served with Craft Beer Snack Mix which has wasabi peas, Craisins, nuts, pretzels and rice crackers. It’s a really cool addition. We tried Craft Beer Flight #2 with Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat Ale, Florida Beer Company Sunshine State Pils, Magic Hat Brewery Dream Machine IPL and Terrapin Beer Company Rye Pale Ale.
None of us are IPA fans so we weren’t thrilled with the IPL. It was just too hoppy for us. If you enjoy lighter beers, then Goose Island and Florida Beer Company will be for you. They’re light and refreshing. Perfect on a really hot Florida day. The Terrapin Beer Company Rye Pale Ale was surprisingly good. It had a good flavor and not too strong. Overall, the beers are great. There seemed to be a tie between the Sunshine State Pils and Rye Pale Ale. We also tried the Shiner Wild Hare Ale. It’s refreshing and most like an amber ale.
One new addition to the Craft Beer booth is food! This year, they added three food items to the menu and we tried all of them. We really liked the Spicy Pimento Cheese Dip… even those of us they don’t like pimento cheese. It was supposed to be served with whole wheat crackers and one the first day, we received your traditional wafer crackers and on our next visit, we had a variety of crackers. We aren’t sure which is how they are going to serve it or if it will just depend on the day.
We also tried the Country Pate. It was okay. We were reminded of braunschweiger without the soft spreadable consistency. Not our favorite!
The biggest surprise was the Muffuletta Pinwheels. We didn’t expect much from this because it looked like something you see on a party platter, but it was great. The pinwheels had a lot of flavor! We’d definitely order them again.
