Epcot Flower and Garden Festival: Fleur de Lys and Primavera Kitchen
Fleur de Lys and Primavera Kitchen both returned to this year’s Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. Fleur de Lys features fresh ingredients from France, and Primavera Kitchen highlights seasonal ingredients from Italy.
Fleur de Lys
The menu remains nearly unchanged from last year’s. The orange macaron has been replaced with a strawberry flavored one. The only new addition to the menu is the Ice Pop.
We enjoyed this dish last year, so we decided to have it again. The Gnocchi Parisien à la Provençal is a Parisian-style dumpling with tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms and cheese. This vegetarian dish is on the heavier side of the menu items offered at the festival.
The new addition, Ice Pop, a grown-up’s popsicle made with Grand Marnier Peach Raspberry, vodka and iced tea. This was a lot of fun to eat! Just beware, if it’s a hot day… it’s going to melt fast.
Primavera Kitchen
Primavera’s menu is very similar to the previous year’s. The pinwheel of mozzarella, prosciutto, olio toscano and ciabatta bread has replaced the caprese from the previous year.
We tried the cheese manicotti – egg pasta stuffed with Mozzarella, Ricotta, Parmesan, tomato sauce and béchamel. It was okay, nothing special.
As always, Birra Moretti Lager and La Rossa are available. Guests who don’t drink beer will enjoy one of the wines, Strawberry Bellini or Frozen Italian Primavera (fruit slush, Limoncello and vodka). We are huge fans of Limoncello so we recommend trying the Frozen Italian Primavera.
