Epcot Flower and Garden Festival: Urban Eats
Urban Eats debuted last year at the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. The Outdoor Kitchen highlights farm to table foods.
New on the menu is the quinoa vegetable “naanwich”. It’s naan topped with a quinoa salad, arugula pesto, oven dried tomatoes and cheese. We really enjoyed this dish! For those that are vegetarians, this dish is must-try.
Another new dish is the kale salad with dried cherries, almonds and goat cheese with white balsamic vinaigrette. Often you see salads served with Craisins, but we thought the dried cherries was a nice change to a salad. If you like the salad at Sunshine Seasons, make sure to try this one.
Both the quinoa vegetable “naanwich” and kale salad are vegetarian dishes. The kale salad is also gluten-free.
Returning is the ghost pepper dusted tilapia with crisp winter melon slaw and mint oil featuring The Original Sauce Man’s Kick It Up Rub. If you like something that has a little bit of a kick to it, try this. It’s spicy, but not too spicy.
The area has displays of fun, creative ways to build your own garden. We love the raised garden bed and herb tree.
The chicken coop display explains how chickens not only provide eggs, but can be a great way to get rid of weeds and fertilize your garden. However, I don’t know how your neighbors would feel about them clucking early in the morning, but mine wouldn’t like it so much. I think I’ll let the chickens stay in the country. 🙂
