Spice Road Table coming soon to Epcot
In April we reported that a new restaurant would be opening in the Morocco Pavilion at Epcot, Spice Road Table. Currently the Morocco Pavilion has two restaurants, Restaurant Marrakesh (table service) and Tangierine Café (quick service).
This outdoor cafe will sit on the World Showcase lagoon, making it a perfect location for watching IllumiNations. According to Disney Parks Blog, the cafe will have a whitewashed façade accented with icy shades of blue from the famous “Blue City” of Chefchaouen. There will also be colorful shops in the style of Moroccan “soulk” (marketplace) along the front of the building. Guests will be able to get a henna tattoo by a Cast Member who specializes in this temporary body art. The cafe will have 120 outdoor terrace seats and booths inside to seat 60. The decor will have tilework, Moroccan light fixtures, tapestries and artwork that represents the indigenous Berber tribes of Morocco.
So what kind of food will you find? Then menu will include Moroccan small plates and specialty drinks featuring regional flavors from along the Mediterranean. These are some of the menu items that will be available: zesty harissa chicken drumettes; a Mediterranean omelet with sausage, potatoes and caramelized onion; mussels with preserved lemons and tomato sauce baked in an earthenware tagine pot; Moroccan merguez sausage with a fresh tomato salad; garlicky jumbo shrimp in a spicy chile pepper sauce.
Currently there is no opening date set or information on the acceptance of Tables in Wonderland or Disney Dining Plan.
Will you be trying this restaurant once it opens? Are there any dishes you hope to see on the menu? Share your thoughts below!
