Epcot Flower and Garden Festival: The Smokehouse
The Smokehouse: Barbecue and Brews is one of the most popular Outdoor Kitchens at the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. This year’s menu features new and fan favorites.
Last year favorites, pulled pig slider with cole slaw and “Piggylicious” bacon cupcake with maple frosting and pretzel crunch are back. Check out last year’s review on these two menu items.
Most of this year’s beers are new. Guests can try Floridian Hefeweizen from Funky Buddha Brewery in Oakland Park, FL, Category 3 IPA from Due South Brewing Company in Boynton Beach, FL, Maple Bacon Stout from Shipyard Brewing Company in Clearwater, FL (Festival exclusive!) and Billy’s Chilies from Twisted Pine Brewing Company in Boulder, CO (returning).
Our favorite was the Maple Bacon Stout. It has a slight sweet flavor with a hint of smokiness. The Category 3 IPA was very hoppy so it was our least favorite. If you want to something that is very different, try the Billy’s Chilies. It’s a spicy!
Our favorite, the beef brisket burnt ends hash with white cheddar fondue and pickled jalapeños. It’s very similar to the bacon hash that was served during the Epcot Food and Wine Festival.
New this year, the smoked Debreziner sausage with house-made sauerkraut with caraway and mustard was great. The sausage is a little bit spicy, so it pairs really well with the kraut. We liked it best with the Floridian Hefeweizen.
If The Smokehouse is your favorite, then stop and pick up a souvenir. It’s the only Outdoor Kitchen that has its own merchandise! Guests can get t-shirts, hats, pint glasses (our favorite!) and bottle openers.
