New Farm Fresh at the 2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival
We’re always excited about new menu items, restaurants and of course, Food and Wine Festival booths. So of course we were trilled to taste what was being offered at the new Farm Fresh at the 2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival.
At the Tables in Wonderland preview party we sampled the Nueske’s Pepper Bacon Hash (made by Executive Chef Jens Dahlmann). It was one of our favorite items, so we’ll be having it again. You can check out our review of that event here!
The Griddled “Yard Bird” with braised greens and house-made habanero sauce was okay. It wasn’t a favorite of ours. The skin is left on the chicken and the chicken itself lacks flavor. What does have flavor is the habanero sauce. We loved that! If you don’t like hot foods, skip the sauce. It really does have a hot kick to it. We wouldn’t order the dish again, but are glad we tried it. It’s $4.50 and can be purchased with Disney Dining Plan snack credits.
We tried the Farm Fresh beer flight which included, Orlando Brewing Company I-4 IPA, Uinta Brewing Company BaBa Black Lager, Bold City Brewery Duke’s Cold Nose Brown Ale and Cigar City Brewery Florida Cracker Belgian Style White Ale. They weren’t numbered correctly because someone has incorrectly attached the beers. Cast Members were discouraging guests from ordering them until they figured them out. However, we were familiar with the taste profiles of the beers to be able to sip them and put them in the correct order.
The Duke’s Cold Nose we had tried at the preview party and enjoyed it. For those that enjoy Blue Moon, you’ll love the Florida Cracker. It’s a light, refreshing and easy to drink beer. The other beer we really enjoyed was the BaBa Black Lager. If you’ve never had one, their look is deceiving. You’d think because of its dark color that it would be similar to a porter or stout, and be very heavy. It’s not. The beer is light but with more flavor than your traditional lager.
