Wine Bar George opening in Disney Springs

Master Sommelier George Miliotes is making the rounds lately with taking part in special dinners around Orlando. He’s opening a new wine bar in Florida this fall, Wine Bar George which will be open in The Landing at Disney Springs.

Wine Bar George, the ONLY wine bar in Florida led by a Master Sommelier, will feature more than 100 selections of wines by the bottle and by the glass. There will be a wide range of varietals, vintages and prices. The menu will include small plates, cheese and charcuterie that compliments the wine list. There will also be local artisan and seasonal menu items.

There will be experiences to educate guests one wines as well. There will be special events and visits from renowned winemakers. “I’m thrilled to share my enthusiasm and passion for wine with every sing guest,” says Miliotes.

The bar will have 210 seats in a 6,000 square foot space. It will be reminiscent of a winemaker’s home estate and make guests feel welcomed and comfortable.

For those of you not familiar with Master Sommelier George Miliotes, he’s not new to Disney. He was part of California Grill’s opening team and managed the restaurants from 1995 to 2002. He created the award-winning wine list. Since leaving Disney, he’s been overseeing the wine culture for Darden and was a founder of Seasons 52.

Miliotes is one of 230 Master Sommeliers in the world. Most impressive, if you ask me. As a native of Florida, he grew up in the business. His family owned a specialty market and café in Orlando.
