Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming is now open
Today, Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming Florida Kitchen and Southern Shine opened in Disney Springs. The new restaurant will seat 200 guests and is located in the new Town Center section.
The restaurant was inspired by his years spent in Florida. He grew up in north Florida, attended Florida State University and did the Disney College Program at Disney World. His Florida upbringing and his mother’s emphasis on fresh ingredients is evident in the cuisine that Homecoming Florida Kitchen and Southern Shine.
Chef Art Smith said, “My family has farmed in Florida across six generations and I am proud of that heritage,” and “With Homecoming: Florida Kitchen and Shine Bar, I am excited to share some of the best harvests of Florida agriculture and aquaculture with Disney Springs guests.” Homecoming Florida Kitchen will feature the agriculture of Florida and the Shine bar, distilled spirits made with farm-fresh herbs and house-made elixirs straight from the Sunshine State.
On the menu, you’ll find delicious Southern items such as Art’s Fabulous Fried Chicken, Shrimp & Grits (we know that will be a favorite of ours), Fried Catfish, Momma’s Mac and Cheese, and Shine Cake. Those who are gluten-free or vegetarian have nothing to worry about, there will be menu items available for you as well. If you’re in a hurry, you can hit up their Grab and Go window for items like Fried Chicken Sandwich, Chopped Pork Sandwich, Margarita and Sweet Tea Shine. As far as the price, menu items range from $7 – 41.
In the Shine bar, Florida flavor reigns with distilled spirits made here in the Sunshine State to the farm-fresh herbs and house-made elixirs used to enhance the crafty cocktails.
Homecoming Florida Kitchen and Southern Shine will be open Sunday – Thursday 11 am to 12 am, and Friday and Saturday 11 am – 1 am. The Disney Dining Plan is accepted!
