The Mexico booth at the 2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival
We tried several items from the Mexico booth at the 2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival. This booth has been a favorite of many since 1996 and often has very long lines.
The menu remains nearly unchanged from last year. The Sweet Corn Cheesecake replaces the Rice Pudding and the Mango-Strawberry Margarita, the Mango-Habanero Margarita. We were a little disappointed that we couldn’t get the margarita again. It was fantastic!
The Shrimp Taco is fried shrimp, pickled habanero peppers and red onions, with a creamy chipotle sauce on a flour tortilla. The taco was excellent. The shrimp weren’t overcooked and the pickled peppers and onions added a nice touch to the dish. I could have had 2 or 3 more of these. The taco is $5.50 and Disney Dining Plan snack credits can be redeemed for it.
The Sweet Corn Cheesecake was a surprise. We weren’t sure what to expect (we were anticipating not likely the dish). To our surprise, it was really good. It has a nice creamy consistency and nice corn flavor. It’s topped off with whipped cream and dulce de leche. It’s definitely different and I’d recommend it for those who are adventurous. It’s $3.50 and you can use your Disney Dining Plan snack credits on it.
For our drink, we decided we all sample the Sangria. It’s definitely Sangria. We were thrilled to see that it was the same size as in previous years and that you could still taste the red wine in it. If you’re a Sangria fan, make sure  you order this one.

Need the recipe for the Sweet Corn Cheese Cake at Mexico. To me, it was the Hit of the show!

I’ll see if I can get that. It definitely was a surprisingly good dessert.

Oh, we LOVED the sweet corn cheesecake and wanted to make it for Thanksgiving (we usually do a pumpkin cheesecake) but have had no luck finding the recipe, so if you could that’d be great!

Iv’e Checked all the Disney Sites, but no luck. They all seem to mention it in the reports, but no where is there a recipe. While we were there, we asked for it at the Mexico Booth, and was told to ask the Chef in the Cantina. We tried, but it was around 4:00 and he sent a message and apologized that it was quite busy, and if we came back at another time he would try to help us, but we were leaving that night.
