Summer treats to stay cool at Disneyland

With the heat of summer, you’ll be looking for some cool treats to enjoy at Disneyland when you hit the parks in July. Here is some things to try the next time you want to cool down.

If you want to try something healthy and refreshing while at Disneyland then you won’t want to miss these salads. Crispy Chicken Mixed Green Salad at The Golden Horseshoe  in Disneyland. Not only is it a nice cool place to sit, but you can also enjoy a live performance by Laughing Stock Co. If a healthy salad isn’t on your list, then cool off with sundaes or an ice cream float. Picnic Salad at the Hungry Bear Restaurant is a  refreshing salad perfect for summertime. Salad with turkey breast, strawberries, feta, cranberries, roasted almonds and jicama. If you need something that is light and cool and eaten on the go, try the Turkey Caesar Wrap. Another great on the go snack is Corn on the Cob at Edelweiss Snacks . This isn’t just your regular corn on the cob, but you can have traditional buttered corn on the cob or spice it up with the zesty chili-lime variety. Either way, nothing says summer like corn on the cob. Love seafood? Then try the Baked Fish Tacos at Rancho del Zocalo . These baked taco are topped with cool cabbage slaw and chipotle-ranch. They also have the best lime salted tortilla chips, perfect to eat while walking around the park.

Spending the warm summer days at California Adventure? Then here are a few good eats to try. You will find some chilled and salted edamame at the Lucky Fortune Cookery. A perfect snack to enjoy while still enjoying the park. If you are looking for a nice cool meal, try the salads in sourdough bread bowls at the Pacific Wharf Café. You can choose from the Chinese Chicken Salad with diced chicken, fresh greens, wontons, almonds, carrots, sesame seeds and scallions in a soy-ginger dressing, or the Chicken, Apple & Walnut Salad with tender chicken breast, crisp apples, celery and walnuts in a honey-lemon dressing served on fresh greens. If you want to enjoy a nice sit down meal while you cool down head over to Carthay Circle Lounge and enjoy the Vietnamese Twice-Cooked Beef Taco. These tacos are topped with a refreshingly cool pineapple-mint salsa. If you have room for dessert, order the Sample of Ice Cream Macaron Sandwiches. If cool drinks are your thing, head over to Schmoozies . They have so many different options with fresh fruit like mangos, peaches, banana and you can have those blended with low-fat yogurt with orange, pineapple, guava and passion fruit juice. You can also find some cool drinks at Cozy Cone Motel.  You’ll enjoy  Redd’s Apple Freeze, Fillmore’s Fuelin’ Groovy Lemonade, Ramone’s “Pear of Dice” Soda, Doc’s Wild Grape Tonic or a “Route” Beer Float.

You can also catch a cool break at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels. Head over to the Disneyland Hotel and enjoy the Ahi Poke at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar. They also serve shrimp tacos and chicken lettuce wraps along with some delicious, fruity cocktails. If you are enjoying the day at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, then head over to the Hearthstone Lounge for a cool glass of wine and the seafood cocktail. Served with chilled shrimp, avocado, tomatoes, red onions and cucumbers in cocktail sauce.
