The 2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Italy booth
One of our favorite Marketplace booths is the 2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Italy booth. The food and drink is always good, and the Cast Members friendly and fun.
The Ravioli alla Caprese – cheese ravioli, tomato sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan and basil; and the Filetto de Pollo con Funghi al Marsala – chicken tenderloin, cremini mushrooms, Marsala sauce and ciabatta bread are both new to this years menu. The cannoli al Cioccolato is a returning menu item. If you’ve ever had it, you know why.
The Cannoli al Cioccolato is a chocolate-covered cannoli filled with sweet ricotta, chocolate and candied fruit. It’s absolutely delicious. Sicily is known for its cannolis. It’s a must-try item when visiting. If you’ve ever been, you know why. They are heavenly! Early this year, I had a cannoli in Sicily and it might possibility be the best dessert I’ve ever had. So we asked the Cast Members, who are from Italy, if the cannoli was good and anywhere close to the ones from Sicily. They smiled and said it was very good and close to what they have had it Italy, but nothing bets Sicily.
Well, this wasn’t as good, but definitely amazing. We could have had two of these each… next time, we might. The ricotta is slightly sweet and the candied fruit is a nice addition to it. These are so good, we don’t recommend sharing. 🙂
We had the Moretti La Rossa Beer because we love it. When dining at Via Napoli we always order it… sometime, a pitcher. The beer has a rich, slightly sweet taste to it.
