A look at some of the Outdoor Kitchen menu items
We are just days away from the start of the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival, March 4, 2015. Our favorite part of this festival is the Outdoor Kitchens located around the World Showcase. Take a look at some of the Outdoor Kitchen menu items we know about.
In 2013, the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival introduced Outdoor Kitchens, where guests could enjoy fresh ingredients were the highlight. On its third year, the festival will feature a new Outdoor Kitchen – Botanas Botánico. It will be located between France and Morocco and will feature menu items, such as Cachapas with Farmer’s Cheese, a sweet yellow corn pancake, and Seafood Ceviche with shrimp, scallops and grouper with mango and avocado.
According to Epcot Executive Chef Gregg Hannon, some of the new menu items include Beef Brisket Burnt Ends Hash with White Cheddar Fondue and Pickled Jalapeños at The Smokehouse: Barbecue and Brews Outdoor Kitchen; Falafel with Cucumber Tomato Salad and Tahini at Taste of Marrakesh; Kale Salad with Dried Cherries, Almonds and Goat Cheese at Urban Farm Eats; Spicy Hot Dog with Pineapple Chutney and Sriracha Mayo at Pineapple Promenade and Quinoa Vegetable Naanwich with arugula pesto and oven-dried tomatoes at Urban Farm Eats.
Don’t worry, some of your favorites will be returning. These menu items include:
- Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade, Sparkling Pineapple Wine and Berry Tea Cocktail at Pineapple Promenade
- Macaron Guimauve à la Fraise (this year’s is a strawberry marshmallow macaron) and Confit de Canard (pulled duck confit) at the Fleur De Lys
- Frushi at Hanami
- Limoncello Panna Cotta  at Primavera Kitchen
- Watermelon Salad with Pickled Onions, Baby Arugula and Feta Cheese (one of our favorites!), Shrimp and Stone-Ground Grits with Andouille Sausage and the Florida Blueberry and Lemon Curd Tart (from Epcot Food and Wine) at Florida Fresh
- Beijing Candied Strawberries at Lotus House
- Harissa Chicken at Taste of Marrakesh
- Pulled Pig Slider at The Smokehouse: Barbecue and Brews
- Tacos al Pastor with achiote-marinated pork at Jardin de Fiestas
The Disney Parks Blog should be letting us know about the drinks soon. As soon as they do, we’ll report it here for you, so keep checking back! For a look at our reviews of the 2014 Epcot Flower and Garden Outdoor Kitchens, visit our page!
