Disney Springs expansion is adding more dining options
Currently, guests have 42 dining options to choose from in Disney Springs. Soon, guests will have even more to choose from with the Disney Springs expansion that includes Town Center, doubling retail and dining options.
Twenty eight new retails shops will open on May 15, 2016, including Coca-Cola Store. That one we’re excited to see! Also opening at that time will be four new restaurants – D-Luxe Burger, Amorette’s Patisserie, Tablas Frontera and Homecoming – Florida Kitchen and Shine Bar.
D-Luxe Burger is a Disney owned and operated burger concept that will offer gourmet burgers. The burgers will be made from a signature beef blend, unique toppings and freshly baked buns. They also offer all-natural chicken and veggie burgers for those non-beef eaters. French fry lovers will be happy to hear that they’ll have hand-cut fries (our favorite) and house-made dipping sauces.
Sweet treats will be available at Amorette’s Patisserie, which features delicious pastries, as well as an art gallery. This high-end pastry shop is another Disney owned and operated establishment. Guests can pre-order custom cakes or enjoy a select of champagne and handcrafted hot chocolates.
What we thought was going to be called Frontera Fresco Restaurant is now being referred to as Tablas Frontera. This new Mexican-themed restaurant will feature grilled meats, seafood and veggies served on planks (or tablas). This dining experience by Chef Rick Bayless promotes sharing and togetherness.
Last fall, we mentioned Chef Art Smith’s opening of Homecoming – Florida Kitchen and Shine Bar. This restaurant is all about farm-to-fork cuisine.
We still haven’t heard the opening date for The Edison, STK Orlando, Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza, or Sprinkles Cupcakes and Cupcake ATM. These new restaurants were announced last May and we’re still anxiously waiting the announcement of open dates. We’ll keep you posted as that information is released.
Getting extensive refurbishments are Fulton’s Crab House and Planet Hollywood. We can’t wait to see the restaurants and taste the new menus when they reopen.
